Grammars represent the core
of the voice based applications
The console test allows you to test your grammar inserting a certain sentence in the suitable window.
This test gives you a sequence of indications about the grammar tree browsing:
- the Utterance:that is the sentence pronounced by the user (in this case the typed sentence);
- the the rules sequence the sentence has matched with;;
- the Tag Trace: that gives you detailed information on the output semantic values.
The test also put at your disposal a series of examples self-generated from the grammar rules.
Once a grammar has been created, Grammar Studio enables the generation of samples sentences obtained from the swap of its elements.
These samples represent an extract of the sentences the grammar is able to recognise.
The file with the samples allows the system to highlight possible grammar construction errors that could generate expressions that a user should never say or that are simply out of the application context.
Once the file with the samples has been saved, it can be tested again on the following versions of the same grammar to highlight any improvement or lack in the recognition.
One of the most powerful tests provided by Grammar Studio is the test through voice or pre-recorded file called: Profiling.
These tests give the user two different test procedures:
- Profiling via voice: that allows a user to use the new generated grammar and the microphone as audio source.
- Profiling via VXML: that can be directly uploaded on your compatible VoiceXML platform and testes via phone.
- Profiling via pre-recorded file: that allows you to use a pool of audio files as an input audio source for your grammar. For further details about this function consult the grammars tuning page.
